23 thousand people are considered missing due to Russian aggression

As a result of almost two years of Russian armed aggression against Ukraine, 23,000 people are considered missing. This was reported by the press service of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

The press release states that the ICRC is working to find out the fate of these people, many of whom may be in captivity or have been killed or have lost contact after leaving their place of residence.

Over the past two years, the ICRC has received more than 115,000 appeals from families from Russia and Ukraine who are looking for their missing relatives. By the end of January 2024, the ICRC managed to help 8,000 families get information about the fate or whereabouts of their missing loved ones.
