In the case of large-scale abuses in the field of construction and repair of roads in the Dnipropetrovsk region, ex-head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration, Valenty Reznichenko, has been bailed in the amount of 30 million hryvnias. This was reported by the spokeswoman of the High Anti-Corruption Court, Olesya Chemerys, and the representative of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, Olga Postoliuk, in a comment for "Ukrainian Pravda".
The trial of Reznichenko continues with the discussion of a preventive measure. Although the prosecutors insisted on the arrest with the possibility of a bail of 40 million hryvnias, the court decided to set it at the level of 30 million. The SAP is currently considering the possibility of appealing this decision.
We will remind you that on September 16, the High Anti-Corruption Court decided to choose a preventive measure for Reznichenko. In addition to bail, he is also placed under a number of obligations that restrict his movement and activities during the investigation.
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) exposed a large-scale corruption scheme in the field of road repair and construction in the Dnipropetrovsk region, in which Valentyn Reznichenko played a key role. According to the investigation data, as a result of abuses, the state budget suffered losses of over 286 million hryvnias.
The main figure in the case, apart from Reznichenko, is his former deputy Andriy Kolomoyets and the head of the housing and communal services department of the Dnipropetrovsk regional administration. Together, they increased road funding between March and September 2022, channeling significant sums to Budinvest Engineering, which received 65% of the total road funding in 2022.
The investigation assumes that a significant part of the funds that were transferred to Budinvest Engineering was diverted to fictitious companies related to the heads of Dnipropetrovsk OVA. This allowed the participants of the scheme to appropriate hundreds of millions of hryvnias from the state budget, which should have been used to improve the infrastructure of the region.
