During the first month of the "3000 km across Ukraine" loyalty program, Ukrzaliznytsia passengers have already exchanged accumulated kilometers for about 80,000 railway tickets. This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine - Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba.
According to the official, about 500,000 Ukrainians participated in the program through the Ukrzaliznytsia mobile application. At the initial stage, the initiative covered trains running to and from frontline regions, where the need for affordable transportation remains particularly high.
Various social categories of passengers were able to take advantage of the program - families with children, seniors, volunteers, as well as families of military personnel. In total, during the first month of the program, participants traveled about 38 million kilometers.
The most popular routes in December were Kherson - Barvinkove, Odesa - Zaporizhia, Sumy - Rakhiv and Zaporizhia - Kovel, which connect the front-line, southern and western regions of the country.
The Ministry of Community and Territorial Development emphasizes that the implementation of the "3000 km across Ukraine" program is taking place without attracting additional funds from the state budget. The mechanism works by optimizing transportation and the company's internal resources.
In the future, Ukrzaliznytsia plans to expand the program. During off-peak periods, passengers will be offered up to 250,000 seats per month, which, according to Oleksiy Kuleba, should make rail travel more accessible to citizens for whom the price of a ticket is a decisive factor.
