In Kyiv, the Darnytskyi District Court found a woman guilty of trying to steal goods from the Epicenter construction and household hypermarket for a total amount of 4,188 hryvnias.
The incident occurred on July 1, 2025. The accused took hair curlers, a backpack, hair dye, serums, and other products from the store shelves, put them in her backpack, and tried to leave the premises without paying. Hypermarket employees detained her at the exit.
During the court hearing, the woman pleaded guilty and explained that she committed the crime due to her difficult financial situation.
The court sentenced her to 5 years in prison, but, in accordance with Article 75 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, she was released from serving her sentence with a probationary period of 1 year. The woman is required to periodically register with the criminal enforcement inspection and report any changes in her place of work or residence.
