People's Deputy Marian Bezugla responded to the imposition of sanctions against Alexei Arestovich, former adviser to the Presidential Office. She left her comment on social networks under one of Arestovich's posts, limited to a laconic but eloquent phrase:
“Unfortunately, you tried very hard to happen. Sadly".
This comment appeared as soon as President Volodymyr Zelenskyy entered into force the NSDC decision on the introduction of personal sanctions against a number of persons, including Arestovich.
The words of the misery can be seen as a hint that sanctions are a consequence of Arestovich's public activity, which has been increasingly critical of the Ukrainian authorities in recent years, and sometimes in a tonality close to pro -Russian rhetoric.
The NSDC's decision refers to nine people - political scientists, bloggers, propagandists and former officials. The sanctions were imposed on the basis of information of law enforcement agencies and the Security Service of Ukraine. The control over their implementation is entrusted to the NSDC Secretary.
We will remind, Arestovich held the position of freelance adviser to the chairman of the OP from December 2020 to January 2023. He resigned after a resonant statement about the beating of the air defense missile, which hit the high -rise building in the Dnieper - words that did not confirm the official version of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces.
After the resignation, Arestovich increasingly exacerbated the criticism of the current authorities and made statements that are actively accelerated by Russian propaganda. In one of the last interviews, he predicted the defeat of Ukraine in the war, and also stated the need to "put up with Putin" and render to Western countries.
