The Ukrainian military continues active opposition to the occupiers in the border territories of the Kharkiv region. According to the latest reports, on May 11, hostilities continue, and the military is concentrating its efforts to defend the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
This is what Nazar Voloshin, the spokesman of the "Khortytsia" OSU, comments on the broadcast of the telethon.
"Defensive battles are currently ongoing. Countermeasures continue in the directions of the settlements of Liptsi and Vovchansk. The enemy uses infantry and equipment there. Fighting also continues in the border areas, in the area of those settlements that were in fact in the "grey zone" - Stryleche, Pylna and Borysivka, as well as the Oliynikove and Ohirtseve districts," he said.
In addition, according to the speaker, the defense forces are operating on prepared fire lines, and fire damage is being carried out against the occupiers who have wedged themselves into the defense of the Armed Forces.
"There is also a decision of the leadership to strengthen the units of the Armed Forces, which is already being implemented," Voloshyn stated.
The offensive of the Russian Federation in the Kharkiv region
On May 10, Russian troops tried to break through the Ukrainian border from the Kharkiv region. But the Armed Forces were able to repulse the attacks of the Russian Federation by engaging in an artillery battle.
The air alert lasted more than 10 hours in the region yesterday. In addition to putting pressure on the positions of the Armed Forces, the occupiers are also shelling the local population. In particular, in the center of Vovchansk, there are almost no surviving buildings left. There are also dead and wounded among the civilian population.
Fighting is currently ongoing in this area. As recently as yesterday, it was reported that the occupiers had wedged themselves into the defense of the Kharkiv region. At the same time, on the morning of May 11, the General Staff specified that the Armed Forces repelled 9 attacks in the areas of Strelecha, Krasne, Morokhovets, Oliinikove, Lukyantsi, Ogurtsov, Gatyshchi, Pletenivtsi settlements of Kharkiv region.
