The head of the Kharkiv military administration, Oleg Synegubov, at a press conference on May 17, disclosed the details of the construction of fortifications in the area of responsibility of the OVA. It is noted that the construction of fortifications is carried out only on the third line of defense, while its beginning may differ from 10 to 30 km from the border line or the conflict zone, depending on the specific area.
Synegubov explained that all projects related to the construction of the third line of defense were developed by the Ministry of Defense. These projects include the construction of concrete shelters, the flooring above them, as well as the arrangement of connecting passages. At the same time, military engineers determined the locations of these structures.
"The military administration, its representatives and the department refuse to take responsibility for the construction of fortifications. When receiving schematic maps, which indicate what and where should be erected, we consider it as a technical task, where the most important thing is to meet the deadlines. This is already becoming our responsibility," Sinegubov said.
According to him, the construction of fortifications took place in three directions: in the north of Kharkiv region - in the direction of Sumy, in the northeast - in the direction of Vovchan, and in the east - in the direction of Kupyansk and Lyman.
"The number of fortifications was clearly defined, including platoon support points and lines of explosive barriers. Currently, their components are not disclosed, but it is important to note that this concerns the first and second lines of defense, which are beyond our responsibility," explained the head of the OVA.
Sinegubov admits that there are areas where work on the construction of fortifications has been stopped due to constant shelling by Russian troops. These facilities were planned to be handed over to the military, but this has become impossible due to constant attacks by the occupiers.
He also commented on the images that appeared on the Internet of unused "dragon's teeth" on the outskirts of the village of Liptsi.
"In the photo shared on the network, you can see only the remains of the materials that the contractor brought at the request of one of the teams for the future installation. It is important to emphasize: these residues make up only 0.4% of the total number of completed works on fences of this type. Thus, this is a far from strategic value number of tetrahedrons," added the head of the OVA.
