The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court approved a plea agreement between the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office and businessman Serhiy Tyshchenko, a defendant in the case of the theft of arrested petroleum products belonging to fugitive pro-Russian businessman Pashinsky.
According to the Central Committee, the court found Tyshchenko guilty of committing criminal offenses and sentenced him to 8 years in prison, as well as a three-year ban on holding positions in state authorities, local governments, and state and municipal enterprises. The sentence did not include confiscation of property.
However, the businessman's main punishment was replaced with a three-year probationary period. During this period, he is required to regularly report to probation authorities, report any changes in his place of residence, work, or study, and not leave Ukraine without the permission of law enforcement officers.
The text of the verdict is classified. The document will enter into force after the deadline for filing an appeal or after the decision of the appellate court.
As a reminder, on August 25, the Supreme Court of Criminal Appeals began considering an agreement between Tyshchenko and the Prosecutor General's Office. Under its terms, the businessman pleaded guilty and agreed to reimburse the state an amount that is five times less than the damages caused — while the total damage is estimated at almost 1 billion hryvnia.
