According to the information received from our source in the General Staff, it is known that the construction of new defensive lines near Avdiyeva began only at the end of January. This was because the bet was against retreating from the city, which was seen as a symbol of resistance. Now the situation is difficult, because the enemy is actively pressing on the entire front, and we are forced to retreat from the villages to avoid encirclement. After the events in the Avdiiv district, the losses of our troops amount to more than half of the personnel and heavy equipment. In particular, Combat Teams release three times less resources than are needed to conduct operations.
According to the monitoring project DeepState, the troops of the Russian Federation captured two more settlements in the Donetsk region - Stepove and Severna, located near the already occupied Avdiyivka and Lastochkino. In addition, according to the project, enemy troops also advanced in three other settlements - Orlivka, Berdychi and Tonenke.
About 700 residents of Avdiyivka decided not to leave the city and, therefore, found themselves under the control of the occupying forces of the Russian Federation. This was announced on Monday, February 26, by the inspector of the communications department of the National Police in the Donetsk region and a member of the "White Angel" evacuation squad, Pavlo Dyachenko.
He emphasized that the number is approximate and may be slightly higher or lower. Dyachenko noted that during the communication of the White Angels crews with the residents of Avdiyivka, no one openly expressed support for Russia and the occupiers.
"During daily contacts with the police crews of the White Angels, who provided assistance, evacuated and distributed humanitarian aid, no one personally expressed support for Russia. It's just that some people quietly accepted humanitarian aid or other aid," he said.
We will remind that before the start of the full-scale invasion, approximately 30,000 Ukrainians lived in Avdiivka.
