Canada will provide Ukraine with 92 million hryvnias for the development of digital security and protection of critical infrastructure, the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine reported.
The funding will be used to implement strategic initiatives aimed at increasing the state's cyber resilience. In particular, the funds will be used to:
-
critical infrastructure protection,
-
countering cyberattacks and threats,
-
creation of early detection and incident response systems,
-
procurement of modern equipment for cyber defense.
The Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that during war, the stable operation of digital government services and critical infrastructure is crucial.
"Canada supports Ukraine in many areas, including cybersecurity. This assistance is not only a response to current challenges, but also an investment in Ukraine's long-term digital resilience," the Canadian government noted.
Canada has already identified six priority projects for funding, including support for the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine, the Chernobyl NPP, and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine has been continuously subjected to cyberattacks targeting state institutions, energy and military infrastructure. International support is helping to strengthen digital defenses and introduce modern cyber defense technologies.
