In Zhytomyr region, an official of the department of education, youth and sports of one of the settlement councils of the Chernyakhiv community is suspected of official negligence, which led to losses of over UAH 240 thousand. This was reported in the Korostyshiv District Prosecutor's Office, which provides procedural guidance in the case.
The investigation found that the official, without carrying out the proper verification of the tender documentation, agreed the project of construction of the simplest shelter of civil protection without analyzing prices for building materials. As a result, the contracting organization included a substantially inflated position in the budget, which exceeded the average regional prices at the time of the Project approval.
The prosecutor's office believes that the officials directly damaged the interests of the state - due to the overestimation of the budget, the local budget lost more than UAH 240 thousand. These funds were to be used to ensure the safety of community residents during air alarm, but instead were discharged as a result of official responsibility.
The legal qualification of actions of the official was provided under Part 1 of Art. 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - official negligence. The pre -trial investigation is conducted by the police department №1 of the Zhytomyr district administration №2 of the National Police in the region.
The prosecutor's office emphasizes that according to the Constitution of Ukraine, the suspect is considered to be innocent until its guilt is proven in court.
The case will be considered in the near future.
