A man tried to cross the Ukrainian-Romanian border on an underwater scooter

Ukrainian border guards are faced with increasingly inventive methods of illegal border crossing. One of the latest cases, reported by the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, demonstrates the great intelligence of the violator.

Recently, on the Ukrainian-Romanian border, border guards detained a man who tried to cross the Danube River using an underwater scooter. This incident happened while patrolling the river when the guards noticed someone coming to the surface of the water to breathe.

"During regular patrolling of the Danube River, our employees discovered a clever violator who moved underwater using an underwater scooter. He periodically rose to the surface in order to breathe air," the DPSU reported.

Despite a bold and original attempt, the man failed to carry out his plans. Border guards detained him when he surfaced again.

This was not the first attempt of this man to escape from Ukraine. The State Border Service added that this is the second attempt by the violator to illegally cross the border. Unfortunately for him, his plan failed this time too.
