In the conditions of ongoing hostilities in the east of Ukraine, the strategic importance of the small village of New York has gained enormous importance. Military correspondent Bohdan Miroshnikov emphasizes the criticality of the situation and explains why holding this settlement is key to preventing further escalation of the conflict and preserving the strategic position around Kostyantynivka.
Heavy fighting continues in the New York area and in a small part of the city itself.
The village, which should have fallen a long time ago, is still partly held by the Defense Forces!
The guys show off their character, because everyone has long been busy fending off constant enemy attacks and assaults. tired But they hold on!
The same situation in Nelipivka.
New York does not allow the enemy to bypass Toretsk from the flank.
Because in the frontal assaults on the city, the enemy suffers enormous losses, and the advance is maximally disproportionate to the resources involved.
The collapse of any flank of Toretsk (New York–Shcherbynivka–Kleban-Bik and Druzhba–Diliivka–Alexandro-Shultine) will lead to the possibility of the enemy surrounding the Toretsk garrison and will seriously change the configuration of the front in the area.
Currently, the enemy is forced to make frontal attacks on Toretsk while the flanks are holding.
The enemy's potential is decreasing day by day. And someday the moment will come when they will be stopped.
It would be very good to do this in Toretsk, preventing the occupier from forming the western pinnacles of Kostyantynivka.
