Currently, Ukraine is not considering the possibility of opening arms exports due to the lack of political support, Minister of Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin said.
Currently, as noted, the Ukrainian defense complex has excess capacity that exceeds the amount of funding from the state budget three times. Therefore, some manufacturers have expressed a desire to obtain export licenses for the use of unused capacities, but such an initiative currently lacks support at the political level.
"Manufacturers have the right to demand that their capacities are fully utilized or export opportunities are provided. However, this position does not have the necessary political support, and therefore we are looking for financing for our enterprises in order to preserve all production in Ukraine," Kamyshin said.
He also emphasized that there are already certain successes in this direction, in particular, Denmark allocated about 1.1 billion hryvnias for the purchase of weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Ukrainian manufacturers.
