Yesterday, Ukrainian forces delivered a powerful attack on the arsenal of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defense (GRAU) near the city of Toropets in the Tver region. The attack started a fire, which led to a series of explosions and a local earthquake, which was reported by local residents.
According to the publication Defense Express , the attack caused a significant response, and several assumptions were made about the weapons that could be used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). At first, there were assumptions that the "Palyanitsa" type attack drones were used in the warehouse. However, analysts suggest other options, given the scale of the destruction.
Experts believe that in order to achieve such large-scale damage, the Armed Forces either used a large number of drones or used more powerful missile weapons, in particular, the modernized Neptune missile complex. In the footage after the explosion, a large-scale fire can be seen, which, according to experts, is unlikely to be the result of only the fall of the wreckage of the drone. This indicates a powerful strike by a precision weapon.
The destruction of the arsenal is a serious blow to Russian logistics. According to preliminary estimates, at least 60-70 ammunition depots were stored in the warehouse, which stored missiles for the Iskander, Tochka-U, anti-aircraft missiles and other artillery ammunition. The explosions were of such a powerful nature that they caused a local earthquake, but fortunately, there were no known facts about the leakage of radiation that could indicate the presence of nuclear weapons.
According to analysts, strikes on the rear logistics facilities of the Russian Federation, such as the arsenal in Toropka, can significantly affect the overall picture of the fighting, depriving the Russian troops of a significant amount of ammunition. This can significantly limit their offensive capabilities at the front and change the dynamics of hostilities.
