In recent days, a scandal broke out in Ukraine related to the abuse of officials who used orphaned children as a cover to take their relatives abroad.
According to the information provided by the ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets, employees of the Kyiv Children and Family Service together with the Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation of Children abused their status and responsibility, using the permission to leave orphans as a means to take their relatives abroad.
After that, the fake "accompaniers" did not return to Ukraine.
In March 2022, 68 pupils of the Children's Rehabilitation Center, accompanied by 20 people, were evacuated to a children's camp in the city of Wuppertal in Germany.
Later it turned out that there were no Ukrainian escorts on the territory of the camp, and the children were exclusively under the care of the German side.
It also became known that among the escorts there were people who had no relation to this field, and only a day before had become employees of institutions, and some had never been employed.
Among these people is a close relative of the head of the Service for Children and Families in Kyiv and a relative of the head of the Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation of Children #1 in Kyiv.
Each of the accompanying men resigned from their positions after being out of state, and none of them are no longer employed by these agencies. At the same time, they did not return to Ukraine.
