Against the backdrop of the corruption scandal following the publication of the "NABU tapes", the editorial staff of our publication is beginning a series of publications about individual figures in Ukrainian politics who have recently replenished "Ali Baba's black box".
Let us remind you that in the NABU investigation, one of the figures in the "Mindich-gate" is the head of the OP Andriy Yermak, who in Operation Midas goes by the code name "Ali Baba".
We previously reported that the head of the OP, Andriy Yermak (Ali Baba), is mentioned on NABU tapes in the context of the need to "pay for certain needs of the head of the OP from the corruption fund," such as paying for lobbying stories in the US, Britain, and the EU.
At the same time, in addition to corruption schemes in the "energy and defense sectors", dozens of lower-ranking officials, such as Andriy Ermak's confidant, Kyrylo Fesyk, head of the Obolon Regional State Administration, made no less significant contributions to the "black box" of Ali Baba.
According to our source, Kyrylo Fesyk has been a trusted confidant of Andriy Borisovych for several years in a row. He earned this trust not as the head of the district, but as a person who provided financing for the "black box" of the President's Office.
In particular, as the head of the Obolon district of the capital, Kyrylo Fesyk actually manages a budget of approximately 3 billion hryvnias per year, from which he manages to "clean" over 200 million hryvnias per year.
Thus, according to the source, Kyrylo Fesyk's annual "earnings" on "tenders for heat and electricity" are up to 10% due to the transfer of part of the business's capacity for cash.
Also, corruption revenues from the "district" will come from "black" rent, illegal trade, and network connections.
It is very difficult to calculate the exact amounts under these articles, but law enforcement officials say that such schemes bring Fesik about $1 million per month in illegal income.
A separate item of income is the taxation of businesses in the Obolon district. To understand the order of the numbers, it is enough to recall the episode involving Kyrylo Fesyk and Vladyslav Trubitsyn, who is accused of receiving almost UAH 1.4 million in bribes.
According to the investigation, Trubitsyn extorted money from Kyiv entrepreneurs who wanted to rent mobile street vending points. Trubitsyn was detained while receiving part of the bribe while hiding in the office of the head of the Obolon Regional State Administration, Kyrylo Fesyk, and that is where NABU detectives found him.
Also, according to the source, big business in the Obolon district of the capital, "in exchange for exemption from inspections and pressure," collects about 10-15 million hryvnias every month for "supporting military infrastructure," which are deposited into the accounts of charitable foundations controlled by
In addition, according to the source, Kyrylo Fesyk and his legal team participated in Oleg Tatarov's consultations regarding the seizure of enterprises, including in the Obolon district.
