In January 2025, the Central Election Commission (CEC) resumed access to election information, which was closed since the beginning of a full -scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine. This was reported by the movement "Honestly".
What has changed?
On the CEC website are now available:
- Elected deputies of different levels;
- Warehouses of election commissions;
- The results of the presidential, parliamentary and local elections for different years.
Until now, there could be information on the chatter only through the archives, and many pages with data were not preserved in web archives. This significantly complicated the search for information about candidates, party and voting results.
The CEC also works on a gradual restoration of the functioning of the State Register of Voters. According to the deputy chairman of the CEC Sergey Dubovik, there is already a system of periodic updating of voter data, and the next stage will be the opening of access to the verification of the election address.
At the same time, the registry is restored gradually taking into account cybersecurity. Dubovik noted that the final recovery will be possible after permission from cyberfactors.
Recovering access to election information has become an important step to ensure the transparency of the electoral process and the work of analysts. In particular, the Honest Movement actively uses this data to fill the profiles of Polithab and Traitors Register.
This step is an important signal of Ukraine's return to the normalization of the electoral process, even in war. Restoration of voter register work and access to election information increases the level of confidence in the electoral authorities and promotes preparation for the upcoming elections.
