Dayana Yastremska and other Ukrainian tennis players are competing at the Australian Open qualifiers

Six tennis players from Ukraine, including Dayana Yastremska, are preparing to take part in the selection for the Australian Open, one of the biggest tennis tournaments of the year. According to the competition schedule, the Ukrainians will play their first matches on January 9-10.

Representatives of the men's category, Ilya Marchenko and Vitaly Sachko, will begin their journey in the fight on January 9. Marchenko will face Bosnia's Nerman Fatic, while Sachko will take on Kazakh Denis Yevseev the following day.

Four Ukrainian tennis players will join the competition on January 10. Dayana Yastremska will play against the Croatian Leu Boskovic, Daria Snigur will face the Austrian Signe Kraus, Yulia Starodubtseva will meet the Argentine Martina Capurro-Taborda, and Katarina Zavacka will take the court against the French Armoni Tan.

Each of the tennis players will need to overcome three opponents in the selection to get into the main draw of the Australian Open-2024. The winners of the qualification will have the opportunity to join their compatriots in the round of 32 of the tournament. Elina Svitolina, Angelina Kalinina, Lesya Tsurenko and Marta Kostiuk have already been there.

  1. Marchenko - Fatich, January 9, no earlier than 06:00
  2. Yevseyev - Sachko, January 10, no earlier than 01:00
  3. Kraus - Snigur, January 10, no earlier than 01:00
  4. Starodubtseva - Capurro-Taborda, January 10, no earlier than 01:00
  5. Yastremska - Boshkovich, January 10, no earlier than 01:00
  6. Tan - Zavatska, January 10, no earlier than 01:00

We will remind that previously Elina Svitolina lost the final of the tournament in Oakland, losing to the American Gauff.
