Today, December 19, 2024, employees of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) conducted investigative activities in the building of the National Police Headquarters in Poltava Region. As it became known unofficially, these searches are connected with a criminal case regarding the theft of fuel and lubricants . There are currently no official reports on the results of the actions, but the case is attracting serious attention in connection with previous investigations in this area.
The history of the fuel theft case
This is not the first case of investigation on similar charges. In November 2019, the SBI already conducted searches in a similar case related to the forgery of fuel coupons for the "Poltava" battalion and embezzlement of state funds. As part of this investigation, Olena Golovko , an employee of the Poltava region police, was suspected of forging documents and embezzling 530,000. UAH state funds.
In 2020, the Kharkiv Moscow District Court ordered house arrest for Golovko, who was accused of organizing these violations. However, the investigation into the case was suspended due to problems with the investigation of the investigation materials, which raised additional questions about the effectiveness of justice in this case.
