The prosecutor of the Brovary District Prosecutor's Office sent an indictment to the court against a deputy of the Zazimsk Village Council of the Brovary District of the Kyiv Region, who simultaneously holds the position of a land surveyor specialist in the same council.
As reported by "Law and Business" with reference to the NACP, the official is accused of illicit enrichment, which is provided for in Article 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The pre-trial investigation confirmed the findings of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption. It turned out that the deputy's close associates, on his instructions, acquired unjustified assets worth about 29.8 million hryvnias.
If the deputy is proven guilty in court, he faces a sentence of imprisonment for a term of five to ten years, as well as a ban on holding certain positions or engaging in certain activities for three years.
The case has already been referred to court, and it may become a model in the fight against illicit enrichment among local deputies.
