The OPZZH deputy tried to flee to Slovakia

In Zakarpattia Oblast, border guards detained a deputy of the Chygyryna City Council, who belongs to the banned political party OPZZH and tried to illegally cross the border with Slovakia. This was reported by the Western Regional Office of the State Border Service of Ukraine.

Border guards of the Chopsky detachment detained a Ukrainian who tried to illegally cross the Ukrainian-Slovak border. The detainee turned out to be a deputy from the Chigyryna City Council, who is suspected of justifying the armed forces of the Russian Federation.

The border squad of the "Veliky Berezny" department saw the deputy while patrolling a few hundred meters from the state border. The person was heading in the direction of Slovakia, but was stopped at the barrier fence.

During the checks, operational border guards found out that the detainee is a deputy of one of the city councils of the Cherkasy region, who is accused of committing a criminal offense provided for in part 2 and part 3 of article 436-2 of the Criminal Code "Justification, recognition as lawful, denial armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants".

The offender was taken to the border unit with the aim of bringing him to administrative responsibility under part 1 of article 204-1 of the Code of Criminal Procedure "Illegal crossing or attempt to illegally cross the state border of Ukraine". After carrying out the necessary measures, the man left the border accompanied by employees of the relevant law enforcement agencies.
