Oblasts will be able to comply with energy limits more easily thanks to the commissioning of an additional power unit at nuclear power plants. However, the improvement will be temporary due to expected heat loads in July. This was stated by the head of "Ukrenergo" Volodymyr Kudrytskyi.
"We expect that in the near future, on the night of June 7-8, an additional unit at the nuclear power plant will be put into operation. This will improve our power system for two weeks. The shutdown schedules will not disappear, but will become softer throughout Ukraine," Kudrytskyi said.
With the introduction of an additional power unit, it will be easier for the regions to comply with the limits. However, the improvement will be temporary as the heat in July will increase the load on the power system.
In addition, from June 8, "Ukrenergo" plans to change the method of allocation of limits. Instead of bringing a megawatt limit to each region, the regions will receive the number of queues that each region will have to disconnect. According to Kudrytskyi, this should lead to a more even distribution of the "burden of outages" between regions.
