The trust of Ukrainian citizens in the Yedyni Novyny telethon continues to decrease. According to the latest survey data of the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology, only 36% of respondents believe the information coming from this marathon.
According to the results of the study, which lasted from February 5 to 10, it became known that in December 2023, 43% of respondents believed in the reliability of "Yediny Noviny", but at the beginning of February 2024, this figure dropped to 36%. Meanwhile, the share of those who do not trust this marathon has increased to 47%.
Sociologists note that the idea of "Single News" initially had a lot of support, but since 2023, there has been a steady decrease in trust in this source of information. Even among supporters of President Volodymyr Zelensky, the telethon raises doubts: 48% trust, but 33% do not.
Residents of the West and Center of the country turned out to be somewhat more critical of "Edyny noviny", but in general, in all regions, no more than 40% trust this source of information.
Anton Hrushetskyi, deputy director of the KMIS, points to changes in the media landscape of Ukraine that have taken place recently. According to him, with the spread of Internet sources of information, there has been a significant mixing of sources, and the TV viewing of "Yediny noviny" has become less popular.
The negative dynamics of trust in Yedyny noviny indicates the need to review the format of the telethon so that it becomes more relevant to the current situation in Ukraine. There is room for solutions that will satisfy the public and help restore trust in this media resource.
