There may be restrictions on the supply of electricity in Kyiv, and energy experts call on residents of the capital to reduce electricity consumption during peak load times.
The general director of the company, Denys Bondar, made the following conclusions on Friday, April 19. The reasons for the possible introduction of power outage schedules are as follows:
Increase in electricity consumption: with the arrival of spring, the need for electricity increases significantly.
Damage to infrastructure as a result of shelling: attacks by Russian troops on energy facilities in Ukraine lead to their destruction and disrupt the normal functioning of the power grid.
"Given the increased need for electrical energy in the conditions of damage to the power grids that occurred, there is a possibility of introducing shutdown schedules in the event of further shelling of our energy facilities," Bondar emphasized.
DTEK reported that they are actively working to reduce the possibility of massive power outages.
Implementation of restoration measures: teams of specialists take measures to restore damaged elements of the power grid.
Appeal to economical consumption: "DTEK" calls on the residents of Kyiv to use electricity carefully, in particular, during the peak consumption hours, which are in the morning (from 7 to 11 a.m.) and evening (from 5 to 11 p.m.) hours.
