This winter, Ukrainians are advised to "rely on themselves", and the executive director of DTEK Dmytro Saharuk explained what exactly is behind this call. In a comment for Telegraf, he spoke about the importance of supporting those who are restoring the Ukrainian energy system, which was damaged by shelling, and preparing it for the winter period.
Sakharuk emphasized that "relying on yourself" means, in particular, relying on workers who work daily to restore energy infrastructure, ensure stable gas and coal production, and repair generation capacities that will feed the country during periods of peak loads.
He also expressed confidence that the Ukrainians have prepared to a large extent for possible difficulties: "People have already prepared very well in two years, - said Sakharuk. "They installed generators, purchased additional batteries and other equipment."
In light of the current challenges, the executive director of DTEK added that Ukrainians should think about what additional steps they can take to prepare for the cold weather. "Count on yourself. I'm not kidding. Everything is in our hands and depends on each of us," he said, stressing that everyone's contribution will contribute to an easier winter.
Earlier, Sakharuk called on Ukrainians to think about how to ensure their comfort in winter. "If everyone thinks about what they can do to get through the next winter and implements it, it will definitely pass easier," he said.
This call for active preparation against the backdrop of an unstable energy situation indicates the need for mutual support and self-organization in the face of possible energy constraints.
