In Vinnitsa in the morning, a serious road accident happened on Andrei Pravozvanny Street: a taxi driver knocked down a 22-year-old girl who crossed the road at an unregulated pedestrian crossing. This was reported by police of Vinnytsia region.
According to preliminary information, a 32-year-old resident was driving a Renault car who executed a taxi order. As a result of the onset, the victim was injured and was urgently hospitalized.
Police who arrived at the scene found that the driver was intoxicated. It was detained in procedural order in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code. The man was placed in a temporary detention center.
Investigators and criminalists worked on the spot. The car that was hit was removed and transported to the arresting ground. In the near future, the man will be declared suspicion and a precautionary measure.
Law enforcement officers opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Art. 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine-a violation of traffic safety rules by a person in a state of intoxication, which caused injuries. According to the law, the offender threatens from 3 to 8 years imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles.
