Sumy region law enforcement officers reported the suspicion of the director of the enterprise from Rivne region, who is accused of stealing the state budget funds during the implementation of defense projects. The Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police of Ukraine informs about it.
The investigation found that the head of the Limited Liability Company has concluded a number of contracts with the Department of Capital Construction of Sumy Regional State Administration. It is about the construction of fortifications in the territory of the region. The works were financed at the expense of the State Budget Reserve Fund - in particular within the programs coordinated by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Instead of real fulfillment of obligations, the suspect implemented a fraudulent scheme. He concluded fictitious contracts of the subcontract with the enterprise controlled by him, significantly inflating the cost of services. The acts of the completed works included false data on the volume and cost of construction.
According to police, more than UAH 1.1 million from the state budget was appropriated as a result of frauds.
On the basis of the evidence collected, the director of the company was declared suspected of committing a criminal offense. He faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Law enforcement officers continue the pre -trial investigation. Possible accomplices and other episodes of illegal activity are established.
