According to the Minister of Finance Serhiy Marchenko, the idea of economic reservation is still a subject of debate due to its complexity, because this mechanism causes misunderstanding on the part of the military. He noted that when communicating with the military, it is difficult to convince them of the need for this mechanism.
"When you talk to the military, you will never convince them that this should be done. Never. They say: let's pay 35 thousand now and go and rest a little. And I don't know the answer to this question," Marchenko emphasized.
Despite this, the minister reminded that the reservation mechanism already exists in the country, and at the moment, a million men have already been booked. "Therefore, if there was a really transparent way, when you pay taxes, register, and this allows you to at least be guaranteed that you will not be caught, immediately 'packaged' and sent somewhere without your knowledge, it would be better," he added. .
The idea of "economic reservation", which provides for reservation only for Ukrainians with high salaries, caused a wave of criticism among the military, experts and the public, which forced the Office of the President to abandon this initiative. However, some officials are still lobbying for the idea, which has angered the military. They claim that such a system can split Ukrainian society, because the war is one for everyone, not only for the "poor".
At the same time, economists emphasize that the purpose of economic reservation is not to avoid service, but to prevent economic collapse. Therefore, it is important that reservation models are discussed with Ukrainian employers in order to find an optimal solution for all parties.
