Military expert Ivan Kyrychevsky commented on the recent statements of Russian propagandists regarding the cessation of massive missile attacks on Ukraine, calling them an attempt at manipulation and part of a psychological operation. As Kyrychevsky noted on the Espresso broadcast, strategic strikes of the Russian Federation are not limited to the physical destruction of targets, but are part of a broader concept of "potential depletion operation", which also includes psychological impact.
In particular, Russian propagandists claim that the strategic aviation was ordered to "exhale" and reduce the intensity of attacks. However, according to the expert, this approach has no real basis. He emphasized that the increase in the number of flights of Russian bombers indicates another goal — the training of new crews to perform assigned tasks.
"Judging by the official reports of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the intensity of strategic aviation flights, no one ordered to "exhale". It can be the preparation of crews for new combat missions," Kyrychevskyi said.
According to the expert, the information that Russian troops are no longer planning massive strikes on Ukraine is not worth paying attention to. These statements are part of a propaganda campaign aimed at forcing Ukraine to sit down at the negotiating table. "Russia is always ready to launch new strikes, and the only question is when they will receive political permission to do so," Kyrychevsky added.
Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Combating Disinformation, also warned that such statements should not be misleading: they are only part of information manipulations aimed at reducing attention to real threats from the Russian Federation.
