Ukrainians are forced to pay for maintenance of heating pipes, even if they do not use batteries. Khrystyna Nenno, an expert in the field of housing and communal services, stated this on the air of KYIV24.
According to Nenno, if citizens do not use heating, they can transfer meter readings to zero. However, according to current legislation, this does not exempt them from paying for pipe maintenance. "Such invoices are issued by the Euroreconstruction company, which has legal practice," the expert explained.
The cost of service can vary: from 10 to 1,500 hryvnias, depending on the type of house. Nenno pointed out that you need to pay not only for the personal battery, but also for common areas such as entrances, basements and roofs, if they have heating. "With 'Euroreconstruction' it is more difficult to prove a lower cost, and with 'Teploenergo' it is a little easier," she added.
In the conditions of approaching winter, Ukrainians should also be prepared for possible difficulties. EU Ambassador to Ukraine Katarina Maternova predicted that the winter period will be difficult, but not catastrophic. Previously, People's Deputy and businessman Serhii Nagornyak noted that turning off electricity in winter will depend on the temperature regime and the activity of shelling from the Russian side.
