The Specialized Anti -Corruption Prosecutor's Office has launched criminal proceedings against the former Viceremian on European Integration Olga Stefanyshyn. She is suspected of abuse of power or office, which has caused grave consequences - this is how the case is qualified under the Criminal Code.
But this is not the first mention of Stefanyshyn's name in loud investigations. In recent years, journalists, activists and individual law enforcement officers have repeatedly indicated their involvement in corruption schemes and abuse of power.
The doubtful past - since 2010
- Budget waste. Back in 2010, a scheme with a theft of UAH 2.5 million was recorded due to fictitious tenders. The case has come to the Supreme Anti -Corruption Court, but the consideration is constantly inhibited because of the political influence of a former official.
- Non-stop raider capture. Stephanyshyn appears in the case of illegal change of the management of the NGO on counterfeit documents. Despite the confirmed facts, prosecutors avoid active actions, and the investigation has been hanged in bureaucratic labyrinths.
- ARMA as a private tool. Due to the close ties with the representatives of the ARMA (asset investigation and management agencies), they were close to the Stephanishin person to control over elite real estate, which should be transferred to state ownership.
- $ 3 million for foreign lawyers. Instead of attracting the Ministry of Justice's full -time lawyers, $ 3 million from the state budget for foreign lawyer companies was spent on subsoil use. This decision still has no convincing justification.
A political figure that is difficult to move
Olga Stefanyshyn for a long time remained an inviolable figure in a powerful establishment. Its active activity at the international level, participation in negotiations with the EU and membership in the government provided a political "umbrella", under which things remained in the shadows for years.
But now the situation has changed. The SAP officially came out for her. If the investigation really proves guilt - not only political isolation but also criminal liability awaits Stephanishin.
