The Security Service of Ukraine, together with the National Police, announced the suspicion of the former deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration Volodymyr Prokopov. He is suspected of organizing the illegal crossing of men of conscript age abroad during the period of martial law.
This was reported by the sources of Babel edition in law enforcement agencies. According to preliminary data, it is about the organization of the whole channel of illegal departure of conscripts to the European Union.
Scheme of illegal traveling abroad
The details of the case are not disclosed, but law enforcement officers confirm the fact of suspicion. According to preliminary information, Prokops could be involved in a scheme that allowed men of conscript age to avoid mobilization, leaving the territory of Ukraine contrary to the legislation operating during the war.
The issue of choosing a preventive measure has not yet been resolved.
Past scandals around Prokopiva
This is not the first time when the name of Vladimir Prokopov is in high -profile affairs. In October 2023, Bihus.info journalists published an investigation into which numerous acquisitions of elite real estate were reported by the Prokopiv family during his post. According to journalists, some of the objects were purchased at low prices.
In addition, the investigation mentioned persons close to Prokopiv - Alexander Postariuk and Andriy Stetsenko, who, through related companies, became the owners of communal property.
Following the publications of the investigations, in October 2023, the mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko removed Prokopiv from the performance of duties, after which he wrote the application for dismissal.
It is still unknown whether the current suspicion of journalists is related. The case is investigated by the relevant law enforcement agencies.
