The Ukrainian tennis player's next opponent will be either American Jessica Pegula (WTA No. 6) or Swiss Viktoria Golubic (WTA No. 79). This match will determine who Svitolina will face in the second round.
Elina Svitolina, the former world number three, is the best tennis player in Ukrainian history. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, she won a bronze medal, which was the first Olympic medal for independent Ukraine in tennis.
