Elina Svitolina, the first racket of Ukraine, expressed her impression of reaching the quarterfinals of the WTA tournament in Auckland (New Zealand). After a long three-set confrontation with British tennis player Emma Radukanu, the Ukrainian noted that she is very satisfied with the start of the 2024 season.
"It was a really great match for both of us. Emma also played excellently. It was physically very difficult. I hope I can recover before tomorrow's match. I count on the fact that the audience will come to support me and provide additional energy. I am very satisfied with my start of the season at this tournament. Both of my matches were impressive, first with Wozniacki and now with Radukan. Both of them played very well. I am happy that I was able to cope with the pressure in important moments and start the season with two victories", Elina shared her impressions.
Tomorrow, in the quarterfinals, Svitolina will play against Czech tennis player Maria Bouzkova.
