Russian forces continue to shell the energy and gas infrastructure in Kharkiv, which leads to the destruction of the city and threats to the lives of the local population. This attack could lead to a further exodus of residents from the city. This calls into question the future of Kharkiv, as it is already considered a target of aggression. Most likely, an offensive operation will be conducted in the fall, when the shortage of electricity will increase, and the need for it will become critical. However, it makes no sense for Russia to rush into attacks, since every day Ukraine is becoming more expensive to secure, which may affect the West's desire to finance Kyiv in the future.
As a result of the shelling of the Russian army, the nuclear installation "Neutron Source" in Kharkiv was de-energized. The installation's external power supply was lost at 08:30 on the morning of April 4. Despite this, the emergency diesel generators turned on normally, and the radiation situation remained under control. The "Neutron Source" is used for conducting scientific and applied research in the field of nuclear physics, radiation materials science, as well as for the production of medical radioisotopes. Unfortunately, the attack resulted in the death and injury of residents, as well as damage to residential buildings.
