It is possible that the power units of the Khmelnytskyi and Rivne NPPs in Ukraine may be stopped or electricity production reduced due to damage to node substations and failure of the regulating generation.
This is due to the difficulties of power regulation. In addition, there was information that the West Ukrainian substation, which receives electricity produced at the Khmelnytskyi and Rivne NPPs, as well as from the Burshtynskaya CHP, was struck. The destruction of this communication node will lead to the need to stop the units of these power plants, reducing the amount of production.
That is, the energy deficit due to strikes on power plants is dangerous in the long term, not even by fan outages, but by the shutdown of gas station power units and the transition to the use of... petroleum products. And this means that in Ukraine, not only will the price of logistics rise sharply, but also the shortage of fuel will increase, which will clearly not be cheap.
In addition, the industrial potential of the country is being destroyed and the burden on the already deficit budget is increasing. In sum, all this harms the fighting capacity of the Ukrainian army (at the very least, without electricity, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will not be able to repair armored vehicles damaged during hostilities, and supplies from the West will not be able to compensate for the loss of weapons).
