Currently, Ukraine has registered influenza virus circulation in 22 countries. According to the Deputy Minister of Health and Chief Sanitary Doctor Igor Kuzin, five regions have exceeded the epidemic threshold, which is a more serious signal to strengthen prevention measures. Over the last week, about 250-270 thousand cases of influenza have been recorded in Ukraine, which has shown a fairly active phase of the epidemic.

According to him, the indicators are 13-15% lower than the same period last year.
As of today, the influenza virus circulation has been registered in 22 regions of Ukraine. That is, we have already moved from acute respiratory viral infections (to the flu - ed.). Now, in the vast majority, we register the flu. In five areas, the epidemic threshold was higher than expected. Quarantine or restrictive measures are now being used in these areas. It is about Zhytomyr, Rivne, Khmelnitsk, Cherkasy and Chernivtsi region
He noted that in 12 regions the epidemic threshold is slightly higher than average, and local restrictions are used there.
“If you look at the general characteristic, an average of 250-270 thousand Ukrainians get sick in an average of 250-270 thousand. During the whole period of the epidemic season, 33 Ukrainians died, people were not vaccinated and in a very severe form suffered SARS or influenza, ”Kuzin said.
He also reported that hospitalization levels remain at a sufficiently low level. On average, it is about 9,000 patients in one week.
In addition, Kuzin stated that the end of March - the beginning of April is usually the end of the epidemic season.
