France will continue supplying SCALP missiles to Ukraine, considering military facilities on the territory of the Russian Federation as legitimate targets, - Ambassador Gael Vaissier

France has confirmed that it will continue to supply Ukraine with long-range SCALP missiles, which are one of the most powerful means in the fight against Russian aggression. At the same time, the French ambassador to Ukraine, Gael Vaissier, said in an interview with the Ukrainian mass media that the French authorities consider military facilities on the territory of Russia to be completely legitimate targets for Ukrainian forces.

"Yes, we continue to provide SCALP missiles. We don't have many of them and we have to buy more, so it will take some time. It is also complicated by the fact that we have to ensure that our country is adequately protected. But we are doing everything we can, and we are sending new French SCALP missiles to Ukraine," Vaissier said.

He also reminded of France's position regarding permission to use French long-range weapons, in particular, to strike deep into the Russian Federation.

According to him, Paris "did not have any "red line" on the issue of strikes by French weapons on the territory of the Russian Federation.

"Military goals on the territory of Russia are legitimate [for Ukraine]. It has the right to target Russian military forces because it's a crazy situation where the Russians can attack Ukraine from Russian territory and Ukraine can't eliminate that threat. It would be unfair," the ambassador said.
