Yasno CEO Serhiy Kovalenko commented on a wave of messages on social networks about mass shutdown of light through debts. According to him, these news is not new, and in reality it is about norms that have been in force for over a year.
“The supplier does not decide whether to disconnect someone or not. The criteria are defined by the rules of the electricity market, ”he stressed.
Kovalenko said that the decision to disconnect is made only in cases of systematic ignoring payment - after numerous warnings, calls, messages and letters. Without official warning, the client is not disconnected.
He also recalled that the moratorium on disconnection of malicious debtors was canceled in early 2024.
There is no critical amount of debt, which necessarily entails shutdown. The law allows you to respond even to small debts, but in practice the company focuses on significant debts over a long period.
For consumers who are unable to pay everything at once, Yasno proposes to make a debt restructuring schedule is not a necessary requirement, but an opportunity that the company provides on its own initiative.
Nevertheless, the total customer debt to Yasno is now almost UAH 1.5 billion .
"Electricity should be treated as a product for which you need to pay," Kovalenko summed up.
