Ukrainian politician, former head of the Transcarpathian and Luhansk regional state administrations, former people's deputy, General Gennady Moskal died at the age of 73. The cause of death was a serious illness.
As parliamentarians note, the politician passed away on the morning of March 17.
“After a serious illness, Gennady Moskal died. Eternal memory. Condolences to the family. He held many government positions, was a true patriot and a talented person,” Knyazhytskyi wrote on social media.
Gennady Moskal was born on December 11, 1959 in the village of Zadubrivka, Chernivtsi region. He was a lieutenant general of the police, a candidate of legal sciences, and an associate professor.
In the 2007 snap parliamentary elections, he was elected a People's Deputy from the Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defense party, and in 2012 he was re-elected to the Verkhovna Rada from the Batkivshchyna party.
In March 2015, he headed the Luhansk Regional Military-Civil Administration. From July 2015 to June 2019, he was the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.
