Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andrii Kostin is scheduled to be dismissed from his post and appointed ambassador to the Netherlands. People's deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko reported this.
"Acting Prosecutor General Kostin is planned to be dismissed from his post and appointed as ambassador to the Netherlands," the deputy's message reads.
This information appeared against the background of recent scandals related to the activities of his former deputy Dmytro Verbytskyi. It will be recalled that on October 8, Kostin signed an application for the dismissal of Verbytskyi, who was at the center of scandals. In particular, the journalists of the "Scheme" program found out that Verbytskyi lives in the elite Kyiv cottage town "Konyk", where his nephew bought the house at a price that is six times lower than the market value.
Verbytskyi, answering journalists' questions, denied the possibility of tax evasion, noting that he only knew about the price specified in the contract. He also explained that the deal was dictated by the defects of the house and the need for additional financial investments.
Journalists also established that Verbytskyi's girlfriend in 2024 received elite property worth at least UAH 52 million, despite the lack of sufficient official income for such acquisitions.
