The General Staff of Ukraine did not propose initiatives regarding the mandatory mobilization of women into the ranks of the Armed Forces, and the rumors surrounding this topic are artificial speculations. People's deputy and member of the Committee on National Security and Defense Solomiya Bobrovska reported this in a comment for Channel 24 .
Bobrovska emphasized that now it is not about compulsory service for women, but about the opportunity to receive basic military training. "Currently, women are not offered mandatory service in the army, but only experience in case of a second war against Ukraine," she said, adding that this approach is part of the national concept of national resistance.
At the same time, the deputy specified that women aged 18-25, like men, must undergo basic military training or study at a military department, which will make them conscripts.
Earlier, lawyer and military Yevgenia Zakrevska noted that the mobilization of women is a matter of time. However, according to Bobrovska, at the moment there are no direct initiatives from the General Staff regarding the mandatory mobilization of women.
