The head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) Kyrylo Budanov addressed the people's deputies with a warning of a serious threat to the existence of Ukraine, if peace negotiations with the aggressor do not begin before the summer. This is reported by the publication "Ukrainian Pravda" with reference to its own sources.
According to their information, a closed meeting was recently held in the Council, where the leaders of the parliament and factions of the command of the defense forces were informed about the real state of military affairs.
"At first, the representatives of the General Staff told a lot, confusingly, but very interestingly. Then there were various other reports. But Budanov's answer was the most memorable. Someone asked him how much time we still have. And Kyrylo with his cold smile says: "If there are no serious negotiations by the summer, then very dangerous processes for the very existence of Ukraine can be launched," one of the participants of the meeting told the newspaper.
"Everyone looked at each other and fell silent. Apparently, it is necessary for everything to work out", - the newspaper quotes the words of another participant of the closed meeting.
Before that, the former adviser of the Office of the President, Oleksiy Arestovych, stated that the Armed Forces of Ukraine "collapsed into nothing." According to him, political demands for the continuation of hostilities lead to the demoralization of the troops. In addition, Arestovych points out, at least a third of the army are defectors, soldiers who voluntarily left their units, or are of limited suitability.
A former adviser to Zelenskyi's office also claims that there are "hundreds" of cases of Ukrainian soldiers being captured.
