American multi-role F-16 fighters and their pilots are preparing to participate in the war in Ukraine against Russian terrorists according to the developed plan. According to expectations, this year will witness the first victories of the Air Force over Russian invaders in Ukrainian skies.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba made the announcement during a speech on the National Telethon. He emphasized that the preparation is difficult, as the technology of these fighters is highly developed.
“Pilots, engineers and infrastructure – everything is preparing for this moment. All countries that promised to provide F-16s are fulfilling their obligations. This is not just replacing one type of equipment with another. The concept of air combat management is changing. The process is ongoing, which takes time, but is going according to plan. I believe that this year we will see the first air victories of F-16s in Ukraine,” he noted.
Kuleba earlier indicated at Davos that Ukraine has decided to achieve the goal of expelling Russian terrorists from Ukrainian skies by 2024. However, achieving this goal requires effective weapons and modern Western aircraft.
Previously, "Telegraph" reported on Ukraine's desire to receive not only F-16 fighters, but also close-in army aviation.
Western experts believe that the era of Russian dominance in Ukraine's skies is coming to an end. And even a small number of modern F-16 fighters that Ukraine will receive from Western partners could already jeopardize Russian terrorists' air superiority.
