Gambling in Ukraine beats records: by 74% increased tax revenues

The gambling business in Ukraine continues to demonstrate positive trends even during the war, becoming an important source of revenues to the state budget. In the first months of 2025, tax revenues from legal gambling amounted to UAH 735.63 million, which is 74.2% more than in the same period of 2024. It has become a new record for the industry, which, despite the difficult conditions, found ways for further development and stability.

A significant increase in tax revenues is the result of not only adaptation of companies to new regulatory requirements, but also constant work on business transparency. Legal gambling organizers are actively working to ensure not only transparency for players, but also for state control bodies. This allows to maintain stability in the market and fulfill obligations to the state, despite the war.

However, not all aspects of gambling in Ukraine are positive. In parallel with legal operators, illegal gambling establishments continue to work that do not pay taxes and harm the country's economy. The illegal sector does not provide financial responsibility and transparency, which creates significant problems for regulating this area.

Nevertheless, legal gambling continues to grow and actively support the Ukrainian army through charitable initiatives. Funds from such shares are directed to the purchase of the necessary equipment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the support of volunteer organizations. This sector can become an important element of the country's economic stability if the state provides favorable regulatory conditions.
