The non-governmental organization Union of Volunteer Warriors called on the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal to nationalize the "Gulliver" business center in Kyiv. As reported by kp.ua, the relevant petition has already been submitted to the official website of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and provides for the transformation of this facility into a modern rehabilitation center for military personnel.
The authors of the petition claim that "Gulliver" was built with the funds of the state banks "Oschadbank" and "Ukreximbank". They emphasize that the current owner of the building, Viktor Polishchuk, does not fulfill his financial obligations to the state and does not return the received loans. The total amount of debts to state banks is estimated at approximately 14 billion hryvnias, which is significantly higher than the market value of the object. According to activists, if the building is not returned to the state, the asset may be destroyed.
In addition to financial issues, the owner of Gulliver, Viktor Polishchuk, is accused of ties to the Russian Federation and tax evasion. In particular, it is about non-payment of taxes during the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine. The law firm that managed Gulliver is currently under criminal investigation for tax evasion. The building was also seized and handed over to the Asset Management and Investigation Agency (ARMA).
Public activists emphasize that the nationalization of "Gulliver" and its transformation into a military rehabilitation center will be an important act of justice and a significant step in ensuring support for the Ukrainian military who defend the country at the front. They call on Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal to take measures to return the facility to the state and use it further in the interests of society.
