This year's summer season in Odessa is more active than last year: the increased number of officially open beaches has contributed to the growth of the flow of vacationers. Along with this, the expected increase in prices. The cost of beach services has increased noticeably, especially the rental of sun loungers, bungalows and drinks at the bar.
The minimum cost of a sunbed on Odessa beaches this season is 200 hryvnias. At Seagull Beach Club, located on Chaika beach (10th station of the Great Fountain), renting one sunbed costs 300 hryvnias. Here, a bungalow will cost 1200 hryvnias, which is 200 hryvnias more expensive than last year.
“ Prices have increased slightly – mostly for umbrellas and bungalows. For example, an umbrella has become more expensive by 50 hryvnias ,” says Seagull Beach Club.
On Vidrada beach, renting a sunbed also costs 300 hryvnias, and a beach bed costs 700 hryvnias. The bungalow here is one of the cheapest so far — 800 hryvnias.
On Lanzheron, on the beach “Tilnyashka”, a standard sun lounger in the sun costs 200 hryvnias, and under an umbrella – 300 hryvnias. A beach bed – 800, and a bungalow – 1000 hryvnias. You can also rent an umbrella separately for 200 hryvnias.
Prices at beach bars have also “sunburned” along with the temperature. For example, cocktails on the beach start at 200 hryvnias, coffee and a bottle of water — from 70 hryvnias. Local bar workers admit: prices have increased by about 1.5 times.
“ Coffee — from 70 hryvnias, water the same. Cocktails — at least from 200. It's all along the coast ,” said the bartender at “Vidrada.”
Despite the general increase in prices, privileged categories of the population can count on discounts or even free service. For example, a pensioner from the Khmelnytskyi region shared that she is able to use a sunbed for free in the morning.
