Khrystyna Solovay will answer for her words before the court

After a concert in Chornomorsk, Ukrainian singer Khrystyna Solovya found herself at the center of a scandal due to the use of obscene language. Several local residents filed a complaint with the police, accusing the singer of violating public order.

Serhiy Gnezdilov, cultural manager of the "Videlkafest" festival, said that after Solova's performance on July 26 in Chornomorsk, several viewers were dissatisfied with her use of obscene language. They turned to the police, which led to the drawing up of an administrative protocol under Article 173 of the Code of Ukraine on administrative offenses - petty hooliganism.

According to this article, the singer may face a fine, community service, correctional work with deduction of 20% of earnings, or administrative arrest for up to 15 days. The final decision will be made by the court.

The irony is that the case will be heard by the Illichiv City Court, which still retains its old name, although the city has long since been renamed Chornomorsk. The police explained that the incident received considerable publicity and some residents of the city demanded an apology. The organizers of the festival really apologized to them.

At first, the police wanted to file a report against the organizers of the festival, but they explained that the responsibility for statements from the stage rests with the performer. Therefore, the police turned to Khrystyna Solova to provide an explanation.

Hnezdilov noted that the "Vydelkafest" festival is not against the use of obscene language, but believes that artists should warn the audience about it before the performance, in order to give them the opportunity to remove children or those who do not want to hear such language.

He also said that some deputies of the Chornomorsk city council approached the executive director of the festival and threatened to stop the event if they did not receive an explanation as to why the festival offends the city's residents. They explained to the deputies that the city has a different name and has not been Illichivsk for a long time.

Reacting to the situation, Ukrainian writer, human rights defender and activist Anastasia Melnychenko emphasized the importance of supporting Ukrainian scientists and students abroad, stressing that such statements by officials demean their dignity and work.

Khrystyna Solovyi also reacted to the incident on her social network X, joking about finding a copy of Ukrainian obscene vocabulary.

The incident happened during the Vydelkafest festival, when the singer asked the audience during her performance if they liked the old name of the city, and then called her an obscene word.

Previously, Khrystyna Solovyi sang together with Iryna Bilyk, performing the song "And I'm sailing in a boat" during a concert in Kyiv.
