Who destroys the monuments to the heroes? Police are investigating damage in Sumy

In Sumy on the street of Heroes of Sumy region, a monument to the ATO soldier was damaged. Also, the machine gun and the forehead of the sculpture were damaged. Police are checking and considering several possible versions - intentional damage or the impact of weather conditions.

The machine gun was damaged in the hands of the warrior, as well as partially the forehead. Around the monument - fragments.

“On one of the local telegrams, there was a message that the monument is damaged. The police immediately registered this message and now check. This may have happened not because of deliberate damage, but because of the weather conditions, ”Vladimir Krupetsky said.

The soldier was erected in October 2020. The funds were collected by the Union of Veterans of the ATO of Sumy Region, about 250 thousand UAH. Sculptor Arthur Garmider worked on the monument.
